Top 3: Legit Reasons to Ride

Fitter, Sexier, Younger, Love Machine

1) Be Better in Bed

Good news for those over 50. A Harvard University study has found that men over 50 who ride at least 3 hours a week, lower their risk of impotence by 30%. Cycling also improves your vascular health which in turn boosts your sex drive. A study from Cornell University found that male athletes have the sexual prowess of those up to 5 years younger, whereas female athletes delay menopause by a similar time.

2) Look Younger for Longer

Cycling does wonders for your skin. The combination of exercise and sunlight exposure does wonders for your skin. Dermatologist Dr Christopher Rowland Payne explains: “Increased circulation through exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to skin cells more effectively, while flushing harmful toxins out. Exercise also creates an ideal environment within the body to optimise collagen production, helping reduce the appearance of wrinkles and speed up the healing process.”

3) Lose Weight Without the Injuries.

It’s hard to write this while recovering from a broken collarbone thanks to the trusty MTB. So I will re-phrase it more specifically. “Lose weight without the injuries so long as you dont stack it on the BMX jumps”. Whilst running is a fantastic way of burning the fat, it introduces a lot of risk if your carrying a few too many spare tires. There’s the extra pressure driving through your knees and ankles as you take every step. If you haven’t been active for a while, there’s every chance your supporting muscles around your joints aren’t in good nick either. Cycling on the other hand is a great way to engage your biggest muscle groups, blow out the cobwebs in your lungs all while supporting your extra weight on the saddle. Your knees will love you for it.
